. There are many institutions in Lake County. The County Home, the County Jail, Caley Orphanage, St. John's Home, The Madison Home, etc. These organizations provided many services to our citizens.

This newspaper article describes a New Years Eve party thrown for past directors of the home in 1881.

The Lake County Home Records
Three inmate registers, financial information and various other reports were in the County Home when it closed. They are listed and described here.

The Lake County Home Inmate Registers
Three inmate registers listed the inmates, the reason for admittance, and relevant dates. Volume 1 (June 1852 to August 1896) and Volume 2 (September 1896 to June, 1911) are presented here. Volume three (1911-2004) is not on-line, as some of those people are still alive.

Women's Relief Corps Home of the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Their Wives, Mothers, Widows, and Army Nurses
The Women's Relief Corps (affiliate of the GAR) operated the Madison Home mostly for widows from 1891 to 1962 in Madison, Ohio. Over 300 residents are included here as researched by Cynthia Turk. (New March 2003)
