In 1824 Lorain County was created from parts of Huron, Cuyahoga and Medina Counties. For information around or before that date, you will want to visit those counties.

Our
Chapter
was chartered by OGS in 1983 and membership
includes two
affiliates;
Wellington
Genealogical Group
and
Black
River Genealogical Group. In 2008 our Chapter celebrated their 25th Anniversary as a chartered Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society.
We have a private website at MyFamily.com for our Chapter paid members only, which includes our Lineage Society Banquet photos, member roster, By-Laws, Standing Rules and our Chapter Newsletter , Lorain County Researcher. Members may sign in here.

Wellington Town Hall c. 1885 still stands today and houses the Wellington Police, the Village's government offices, and
where our affliliate Wellington Genealogical Group meets.
