Instructions:
- Inform Kathy of the cemetery or part of a cemetery you are willing to photograph.
- Remember to take a friend or family member with you for safety reasons.
- If your camera has a Portrait setting please use this to increase the focus on the stone and not surroundings. This is a better setting than landscape mode for this purpose.
- Set your camera on the highest resolution available for a better quality photo. It will use more memory but is worth the result you'll have.
- Do not crop the photos, do not date stamp them.
- Take digital photos on sunny or partly cloudy days and do not make any adjustments to them with photo editing software.
- Watch the glossy stones as your image may reflect on their
surface and show up on the photo. If you need to take the
picture from a slight angle to avoid reflections.
- Photos are to be taken of all stones;
standing, fallen, broken, illegible and taken in their entirety without
cutting off corners or bases of the stones. Take an extra photo
zoomed in to get a reading of the engraving if needed.
- Keep photos organized and submitted by cemetery name.
- When submitting photos include your name and contact info so we can thank you for your work.
- If you already have stone photos in your collection how
about sharing them. Printed photos can be scanned and e-mailed /
copied and snail mailed.
- CDs should be mailed to the Chapter address stated above.
** Remember many hands make the work light and easier! Hope you'll be joining this photo project! **
