Meetings are held the second Monday of each month in the meeting room at the North Ridgeville Branch of the Lorain Public Library, 35700 Bainbridge Road, North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039, 440-327-8326. Social Time: 6:30 pm; the general meeting and program begins at 7:00 pm. Exceptions such as field trips, picnics and other activities will be announced in advance here and in the Lorain County Researcher. December 9 - "Serendipity in Genealogy or My Ancestors Talk to Me" Presented by Margaret Cheney, this program discusses the discoveries in our family research which appear for no apparent reason, or what is known as "Serendipity".
January 13 - "How to Prepare a Lineage Application" - Margaret Cheney will discuss the basic information, documentation, and organization needed to successfully complete an application to any Lineage Society. Honoring an ancestor in a lineage society is not reserved for the rich and famous. Your ancestors deserve to have the story told of their contribution to history.
February 10 - "Cemetery Preservation" by Jay Russell of Respectful Interment Preservations will discuss the correct techniques to clean, repair, and care for cemetery markers.
March 10 - "Ohio, the Civil War, and the Internet" : Researching your Ohio Civil War ancestor using the Internet - Eric Johnson
April 14 - Unlocking the Keystone State: Key Resources and Repositories for Pennsylvania Research - Chris Staats will help researchers overcome some of the challenges of finding their Pennsylvania ancestors.
