Mrs. Mary Ann Campbell, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. L. W. Drake, Saturday, March 5, aged 85 years. The remains were taken to Berlinville, Erie County for burial.

CHILDS, Mrs
Lorain County Reporter, Saturday April 16, 1892
Mrs. John Childs died at her home here Thursday, April 14, 1892,. aged 74 years.  Her death was sudden, although she had [the word been is missing in the article] in failing health for some time.  The funeral services were held this afternoon at the home, Rev. E. E. Williams, officiating.  She was a member of the Congregational church and a very exemplary woman, highly regarded by the people here, among whom she had lived almost the whole of her life time.  The surviving members of her family are Mrs. D. M. Clark and Mrs. P.W. Sampsell.

CLARK, Mrs. Orison

Mrs. Orison Clark died on Thursday, February 25th at the home of her son C. B. Clark, 66 middle avenue, aged 87 years. The funeral services will be held at the house on Saturday, Rev. F. C. Eldred officiating.

CONLEY, Ray W.

Ray W. Conley, 68, passed away yesterday at the Hospice of St Joseph in Lorain after a 9 month illness.
Mr. Conley was born in Salyersville (Magoffin County) Kentucky onNovember 5, 1929 and had been a resident of Lorain for many years. He was a veteran of the U S Army, serving in Korea. He had been employed as a riggor at U S Steel, retiring in 1989.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and had raced during the 1950's at theLorain County Speedway. He also enjoyed furniture refinishing which he performed for area stores as well as for the public.   Survivors include his wife Mary Lou (nee Ardo) and daughters Lois Dora of California, Kimberly White and Mrs. Ken (Pamela) Krafczinski of Lorain and Mrs.William (Lynn) Sturgill of Wellington and by sons Mark J. and Leslie R. Conley both of Lorain and Dennis A. Conley of Norfolk, Virginia; a brother Roy H. Conley of Lorain and several grandchildren and 2 great-grandchilren.  He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse F. Conley in 1963 and Chrystal (nee Lemaster) Conley in 1978 and brothers John Henry Conley in 1966 and Challis P. Conley in 1978 and a grandson.  The family will receive friends at Richard Reidy Home for Funerals, 1783 E. 31st Street in Lorain tomorrow (Friday) from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00. Services will be on Saturday in the funeral home at 10:00 am with the Rev. Orne D. Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Conrad Succumbs After Illness
Mrs. Lena Conrad, 65, 1857 Lexington Ave died at 5:15 pm yesterday at the home of her daughter Irene Bremer 1014 W. 11th Street after a five week illness. A native of Weston Ohio, Mrs. Conrad has been a Lorain resident  for the past 45 years.  She was affiliated with St. Joseph Church and a member of Parish Circle #1.  Besides Mrs. Bremer, she is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Joseph Beckler, and Mrs. Frank Foley, a son Alvin Conrad, all of Lorain; four brothers, John Reichert, Lorain; Charles Reichert, Elyria, Frank of Bowling Green, and Joseph of Weston, and 11 grandchildren. The body is at the home of Mrs. Bremer, 1014 W 11th Street where funeral services will be held at 9 am Friday  Rev Fr. Jerome Rohner will officiate at funeral services at 9:30 am at St. Joseph Church followed by burial in Calvary cemetery under the direction of the Reidy Scanlan Co.

W. CONRAD LONG HERE SUCCUMBS
William Conrad, 44 yrs old, for 25 years a resident of Lorain and an employee of the National Tube Co since it's operation in this city, died at 7:00 Thursday evening after an illness of 7 weeks with tuberculosis of the throat.  He had been in ill health for three years. Mr. Conrad was born in Hessen Germany in 1875 coming to America at the age of 16 and locating in Johnstown PA where he was employed in the steel mills.  He came to Lorain in 1892.  In 1902 he was married to Miss Lena Reichert of Lorain who survives him together with three daughters, Irene, Fredrica, and Leona and one son Alvin, all of Lorain.  He is also survived by one brother, Jacob, Johnstown PA and his parents, three brothers and one sister in Germany.  Mr. Conrad was widely known throughout the city and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the Royal Arcanium, and the German Band.    Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The funeral of William Conrad took place this morning from St. Joseph R.C. Church.  Rev Fr. Reichlin officiating. Reichlin, Reidy and Scanlan were in charge of the burial which occurred in Calvary Cemetery.

David Cook II, 81, of Elyria, died today March 26, 1908 at his home. 
Mr Cook was born in Bavaria on July 7, 1826 a son of David and Catherine Cook and immigrated to this country making his home in Amherst Twp for many years before moving to Elyria.    He is survived by his son Henry John Cook of Elyria and by daughters Caroline Cook of Elyria,  Mrs Lena "Lottie" Murdock of Cleveland and Mrs Katherine "Katie" Cook of Elyria.  He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Carrie" (nee Bauer) Cook and twin sons Charles and John Cook.  Burial took place in St Mary's Cemetery in Elyria.

COOKSEY, TRACEY LYNN Moran , Elyria Chronicle Telegram-
Tracey Lynn Cooksey (nee Moran), 36, of Elyria, died Saturday May 18, 2002, at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria after an apparent heart attack. Born in Amherst, she was raised in Lorain, where she graduated from Southview High School in the class of 1983. She attended Lorain Community College and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 13 years. She worked for McDonald's Corporation in Westlake as a restaurant manager for 13 years.  Mrs. Cooksey was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, where she was active with school fund-raising and helping with her daughter's class activities. She enjoyed crafts, baking and helping and encouraging others.  Survivors include her husband of 13 years, Brian; daughters Taylor Lee and Peyton Leah, both at home; parents
Bill and Louise (nee Boughton) Moran; a brother Kirk Fitch of Lorain; and sisters Karen Chawansky of Sheffield Lake and Barbara Marshall of LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her sister Laurie Moran, in 1982.  Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 Tuesday at Hempel Fineral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Memorial may be made to Taylor and Peyton Cooksey Fund, in care of First Merit Bank.

CRANDALL, Burton K.
Rites Held For Civil War Vet
Burton K Crandall of Eaton Rapids Had Been Prominent in G A R Circles

Funeral services for Burton K Crandall were held at the home on Michigan street, Friday afternoon, Rev. G.B. Fleming officiating,
with burial in Rose Hill cemetery.   Mr. Crandall was born in the town of LaGrange Ohio, on Feb 2 1847. His Mother died while he
was still an infant. And he was taken to the home of an older sister Adeline Sheldon. With whom he lived throughout his childhood. 
At the age of 16 he enlisted in the Civil War, But through the efforts of his brother in law Mr. Sheldon. He was released on account
of his age.  His determination to enter the service in the cause of the union, however, was in no wise abated.  And he soon after re-enlisted
in the 150th Ohio Regiment Volunteer Infantry.  After his discharge in the Federal Army.  Mr. Crandall moved with his sisters family to
Eaton, County Michigan, where on July 10 1867 he was united in Marriage to Miss Sarah A Gruesbeck of Walton township.
To this
Union one son Darwin was born.  Shortly after his marriage, Mr Crandall took up agriculture as his occupation settling on a farm located
five miles North-west of this city There he resided for a number of years, eventually retiring and locating in Eaton Rapids.  Where he has
resided during the past three decades.   After establishing his home in this city Mr Crandall entered the employ of the firm of W.A. and
J.T. Hall as an implement salesman, although the ownership of the establishment was several times transferred during the following 15 years,
Mr, Crandall remained throughout that period of time in his original capacity of salesman.
 He retired from active duty some 16 years ago.
But his interest in the G.A.R. and his activities in that great organization have never waned.  He has attended many of the G.A.R. encampments
in the chief cities throughout the country and was at one time commander of the local post.  Being prominent as acting commander at the time
of his death.
  Mr. Crandall was widely and favorably known throughout this section of the state and is deservedly held in the highest esteem
by all with whom he has come in contact, during his long and useful life. 
Mr. Crandall will long be remembered for the good cheer which
was his unfailing quality, it is doubtful if anyone ever found Mr, Crandall in any other than a cheerful and inspiring mood.  
The deceased leaves
the “Dear wife of his youth” and one son Darwin of Eaton Rapids, and a granddaughter Mrs. Beulah Thompson  & 2 great grandchildren
of Lansing to mourn his passing.  
Other near relatives are a half –sister Mrs. Rosa Shearer of St. Joseph, and Mr Frank Sheldon of
Olivet, a nephew.  
A narrow realm is this indeed, dark bordered by the great unknown, and yet; tis all that we shall need to lead us safely
to our own.

Margie Ann Crocker, 47, taught in Elyria schools
Elyria -- Until last year, Margie Ann Crocker was a teacher in the Elyria schools.  During her 22 years with the district, she taught kindergarten, first grade and second grade.
Mrs. Crocker, 47, died from complications from cancer Tuesday at her Elyria home.  The Elyria native graduated from Midview High School in 1969, then earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Akron.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elyria.  Mrs. Crocker is survived by her husband of 18 years, Michael; daughter Lisa M. at home; son, Michael A., at home; a sister; and a brother.  Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Church, 162 Irondale Ave., Elyria.  Arrangements are by the David Bogner Funeral Home of North Ridgeville.

CROCKER, Mrs. Ruth Story
Saturday Feb 27, 1892,  Lorain County Reporter, North Amherst 
Mrs. Ruth Story Crocker, mother of Mrs. Clements of this place and Spencer Crocker of Berea met with an accident Saturday, February 20th that terminated with her death on Monday, February 22nd.  She had been visiting in Amherst and was returning to Berea.  When the train had stopped or nearly stopped at the Tatter Depot, Mrs. Crocker got off the car and in some way she fell under the wheels of the car which mangled her limbs so badly that one was amputated at the right knee and toes of the left foot. She did not recover much after the operation, and died apparently without much suffering. Her remains were brought to North Amherst for burial and the funeral service was held at the Congregational Church, Wednesday, Feb 25th Rev P.E. Harding officiating.  She was born in Chautaugua County, New York. Jan 29, 1824, was married to Lorenzo Crocker Madison, Lake County, O [hio], July 13, 1843 and came to Amherst Sept 3, 1844. Four children were born to them, one dying in infancy. She was a member of the Baptist church uniting with the North Amherst Church by letter. She resided in North Amherst since the time she came here to her death excepting about two years.

CULLINS,  Mrs Nelda or Nelta
Jan 2, 1892 Lorain County ReporterMrs. Nella (or Nelda?) Cullins, wife of J. Cullins died Wednesday, Dec 30, 1891 aged 35 years and was buried from St. Mary’s Church Friday January 1.  Her husband and 4 children survivie her.  She was an estimable woman and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends here.  Her funeral was largely attended.

CURRANS,  William

Wm. Currans, an inmate of the county infirmary for the past ten years, died at that institution Sunday, aged about 80 years. His brother and daughter came here to take charge of the burial, which occurred in Sheffield.  He was formerly a lake captain and at one time had some property.

ENJOYED LACE MAKING  -  Lorain Journal-April 27, 1998
Elizabeth Cyprus (nee Kosztyu), 96, of Lorain, died Monday April 27, 1998, at Amherst Manor Nursing Home, following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 4, 1902  in Lorain and had been a life-long area resident.  Mrs. Cyprus worked for the Board of Education, retiring in 1967. She was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, walking and tatting, a form of lace making.  Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Helene Weber and Mrs. Jean O'Keefe, both of Lorain; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Cyp" in 1969; son Richard in 1991;  sister, Helen Boughton in 1994; parents Andrew and Barbara (Szucs) Kosztyu; and one granddaughter.  Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 9 at the John J. Gluvna Funeral Chapel, 3324 Broadway, Lorain, where a Parastas service will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Divine Liturgy at St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, Reeves Avenue and Meister Road, Lorain. The Rev. James Batcha, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.

Richard John Cyprus, 64, former owner/operator of Cyprus Sands Resort, Vermilion, died Monday at his home in Elyria after a long illness. Born in Detroit, he lived most of his life in Elyria. Mr. Cyprus retired on disability in 1987 after 13 years with Empire Springs, Elyria, where was plant manager. He previously worked  11 years as a process engineer for Thew Shovel, Lorain. He was a World War II  Navy Veteran and member of Abundant Life Church, Elyria.   Survivors include his fiancee, Barbara Duke of Elyria; a son Richard J. Jr. of El Cajon, Calif.; daughters, Rhonda Hand of Marion, Ind., Lana Cyprus and Laurie Seabold, both of El Cajon, and Mona Thomas of Elyria; nine grand-children; his mother, Elizabeth of Lorain; and sisters Helene Weber and Jean O'Keefe, both of Lorain. His father, John, preceded him in death. Friends will  be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Reichlin-Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Kearney officiating.   Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Lorain.
