ORTNER, Jane (nee BECKER)  -   Chronicle-Telegram, 2 December 2005
Jane Ortner, 82, of Clarksfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.  Born in Lorain, she was raised in Vermilion and had spent most of her life in the Clarksfield area.  Mrs. Ortner was a homemaker and a 1941 graduate of Vermilion High School. She was a volunteer at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Stoepker of Portage, Mich.; sons Robert Ortner of New London and James Ortner of Norwalk; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferd in 1999; her parents, Fred and Bertha (nee Reynolds) Becker; sisters Leone, Hazel and Margaret; and brothers Bill, Nelson and Lewis.  Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman, where visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. services. The Rev. Joyce Schroer will officiate.  Burial will be in Wakeman Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to New London Library or the New London Salvation Army.
