MEETINGS: The Madison County (Ohio) Genealogical Society meets 3rd Wednesday of each month with the exception of December. The meetings are held at 6:30pm in the Hartley Room of the London Public Library, 20 East First Street, London, Ohio.

NEWSLETTER: Members are invited to contribute articles for publication. We welcome Bible records, ancestor charts, biographies and family research. Queries are printed as space permits.

LOOKUPS: We welcome queries and will be happy to do research for you. When requesting research, please send a five generation ancestor chart to the Madison County Genealogy Society. Research is free to members.

COUNTY INFORMATION

Madison County was organized in 1810. It was named in honor of James Madison, the fourth president of the United States, who was in office at the time the county was formed.

County Health Department has birth & death records; Probate Judge has marriage & probate records; Clerk of Courts has divorce records from 1800's & civil court records; County Recorder has land records.
