What are the “East Wing Restoration and Military Room Projects?”
The “East Wing” is on the second floor of the MCHS’s Hollister-Parry Museum. It consists of 4 rooms and a corridor.
The largest room displays the Society's OR&W (Ohio River and Western) artifacts and one wall is a large map of the OR&W stations including enlarged photos of Monroe County interest.
The smallest room is being set up as the new medical display room. It houses Monroe County artifacts from local dentists, doctors, and ophthalmologists.
The third room is set up as the storage/receiving room. We are purchasing shelving and storage boxes for archival preservation.
The last room in the wing is the military room. We are honoring all branches of the military and veterans of all wars.
Sponsor forms are available to help with remodeling materials, storage boxes, display cases, etc. It will also serve as storage for stars to honor veterans that will be placed around the top of the Military Room.
