I am trying to find information on the parents and origins of George PIERCE (born in Ohio 1821). In 1848 in Mercer Co., Ohio, he married Marietta MAJOR (daughter of Hamilton MAJOR and Charity OPDYKE). He may have had relatives in Van Wert Co. He had a known brother Zachariah PIERCE (born about 1828 in Ohio) Both George and Zachariah named their eldest son Jasper, but there appears to be no connection with any Jasper PIERCE in the Ohio census 1830-1850. Any info would be appreciated

I am researching the MAJOR family of Montgomery Co., Mercer/Auglaize Co. and Van Wert Co. They came from Maryland (possibly thru KY) around 1808 and settled in Montgomery Co. By 1820 they were in Mercer and Van Wert Co., Ohio. The brothers appear to be William MAJOR, Hamilton MAJOR, James MAJOR, and David MAJOR. William ended up in Adams Co., IN, and Hamilton in Iowa. I would like to find out more about these people, where they may have been in KY and Maryland and who their parents were.

Enoch George JOHNSON was born in Licking county, Ohio 11 Jun 1806. He married Hanor/Honour SANE/SAIN/ELDER in Rush Creek Tp., Licking co., Ohio 17 Mar 1825. After she died he married again to a widow named Nancy REDMAN HOOKS 11 Dec 1864. Data about the first marriage of Enoch George JOHNSON was handed down in the family and two sources differ on the surname of his wife. I recieved it as Hanor SANE and another one lists her as Hanour ELDER. I guess there was a sister in Hanor's family that also bore the name of SAIN. Has anyone any knowledge at all of these two surnames from Licking County? Hanor and Enoch George JOHNSON moved to Mercer County, Ohio, and there they both died, Hanor was 58 when she died. They are buried in Roberts Cemetery in Mercer County, Ohio. Any information on the wife of his second marriage would also be appreciated.

Decendents of Joseph KLEINHENZ b 1811 d 1866 and Maria MEINER KLEINHENZE b 1816 d 1894. Residents of St. Rose, Mercer County, Ohio. I'd like to fill out the first generation tree for Joseph and Maria. I'd also like to understand Joseph's background and parents. I believe my great grandfather, John W b 1849 d 1911, was a son of Joseph. John W moved to Decatur, IN to start his family and is buried in Decatur.

I am researching the surname SAUNTMAN and found a couple names in the Miami Valley Ohio Genealogical Index. The names Robert SAUNTMAN and Amanuel SAUNTMAN are ancestors of mine. Per the index they are in "Mr" county. I am not sure what the abreviation stands for but I believe it must mean Mercer County, Ohio. The source for this index was the 1880 Federal Census. I would like to know more about Robert and Amanuel SAUNTMAN and who their parents were. I believe Robert is my great grandfather. Like to know more about each. Any ideas? Trying to trace the SAUNTMAN name to Europe.
