I am searching for my great great great grandfather Thomas MCCUMSEY and his family who lived in Mercer County prior to moving to Goshen County, Indiana. They are shown on the 1850 census records for Goshen, however, I know that they were living in Mercer County, OH, before that. Thomas had a large family. He was married to Phoebe (I am trying to locate her last name). Thomas was born about 1787 in PA, probably Lancaster County.
His father was Robert MCCUMSEY. Robert was my 4th great grandfather. I need to know more about him, too. He came from Lancaster County, PA to Ohio. I am also searching for his wife..I believe he is buried in Mercer County somewhere.
Thomas and Phoebe's children included William, Robert (Born about 1827 and also my great great grandfather.), Richard, Abram, Isaac, Rachel, Benjamin, John, Arameta. I think that Robert was born in Ohio, too, but I am not sure. Robert married Mary MOORE. My great grandfather Luke was one of his sons. I am also searching for Mary MOORE's family.

Also Adam QUINTER's wife Matilda HEMMERT 8/10/1885-8/15/1966 who was adopted by Joe and Catherine HEMMERT from Cassella, Ohio.
Adam QUINTER lived near Burkettsville, Ohio and in Celina, Ohio. Children include Marie, Herman and Hilda (twins), Marcella, Irenus, Malinda, Louis, and Voneta all from Mercer County. QUINTER's probably came to America from Switzerland and they spoke German. I have been told that QUINTER is of Spanish origin.

The descendents of Heinrich Clemens HAUSFELD lived in Auglaize and Mercer Counties from 1830. The 1840 census lists a "Garret Hausfeld". Neither I nor other researchers have found anything more about this person. If anyone has further information, census, ship records, real estate, marriage, etc., I would be grateful.

Info needed on my g g grandfather, Lorenz (or Lawrence) BREIG. Lived in Mercer Co until his death 8/11/1886. Married to Catherina BREIG. Believe her maiden name to be WORMS. She died in Mercer Co 4/4/1872. Lorenz listed on one census as being from Germany. Need more specific location. On same census, same page, WORMS listed with birth place as France. Can't confirm if related to Catherina. Any confirmation of above, names of parents, siblings, place of birth greatly appreciated!
