JOHN T. BOSTON - Son of William and Mary (Rasher) Boston, both deceased, was born in Belmont county, O., April 4, 1837, and was living in this county, employed as a farmer, when he enlisted at Powhatan, in the spring of 1863 as a private in Co. C, 170th O. V. I., at the age of 27 years. He was honorably discharged from first enlistment in 1864 and re-enlisted in Co. F., 15th O. V. I. He was sick and in hospital at Sandy Hook, Md., three weeks, rejoining his command at Bolivar Heights, Va. Three brothers, Isreal, James and George, all served in the late war. Comrade Boston was married in 1861 in this county, to Sarah E. Junkins, who was born in this county, in 1844. Her father, James Junkins, is still living. Four children were born to Comrade Boston and wife, I. D., Mary, Clara B., dec., and Charles E. Comrade Boston was constable in York township two years, he belongs to Hess Post, 595, is by occupation a farmer and may be addressed at Dorsey, O.
