The Value of Newspapers
The loss of the 1890 census leaves researchers with a huge gap in the family history. Newspapers from this era are loaded with information but tedious to search systematically.
I have added a new section for newspaper tidbits. As time permits, I am adding articles I have collected on the town of Sardis for the 1890's. I invite you to contribute news articles on the community you are researching.
An indexing project for the Spirit of Democracy for the years 1844-1848 is available at
Genealogical Roots in Newspapers. The index is updated quite frequently.
