Frequently Asked Questions

Can you do some local research for me in Monroe County?

I don't live in Ohio anymore, I am unable to do local research. I have four Ohio Counties that I take care of as well, this limits my time. You can also check with some of the others who have volunteered there time on the lookups page.

What you can all so do is post a query to the Monroe County Query Forum. That way someone else who may be researching the same person or who may have some information might see it and be able to respond to your query.

You can also join the Monroe County OHMONROE-L list , and post your query there.

I am adopted, can you help me find my birth parents/my original birth record before the adoption?

After an adoption, the original birth record and all other legal documents related to the adoption are sealed and are not accessible except under certain procedures specified by state law.
