Rev. David Winters

Dayton Daily News - Sunday, September 18, 1932, Magazine Section

This article is courtesy of A. Wayne Webb, Brethren Roots Newsletter Editor. It is a magazine supplement that appeared in the Dayton Daily News of Sunday, September 18, 1932. An original of the page is framed and hanging in David's Church in Kettering.

This original was donated to the church by Lillie Himes Gebhart, a granddaughter of Henry Himes who was one of the original parishioners. She wrote on the margin that Henry Himes named the church in honor of Rev. Winters which is possibly an error on her part. The church records indicate that the honorific was a concensus of the parishioners. Mrs. Gebhart also wrote on the margins that Rev. David Winters is buried in the Woodland Cemetery.
