The following article, appeared on the front page of the Evening News three days after the explosion. This is taken in direct quote from the newspaper: INQUEST AT THE INFIRMARY-------
Coroner Corbin Invesigating the ------- The work of well-drilling was under the supervision of Contractor William Johnson, of this city, though the apparently defective engine was the property of Martin Wolf, residing near here. The testimony of a number of witnesses and inmates was taken though no especially new developments were noted.
