  • Volume 1 of the six-volume Tombstone Inscription series is now online, completing the set! The surname index and location maps for the cemeteries in all sixteen townships are now available. Start here. The cemetery location information in Volumes 1, 4, and 6 (online only) includes GPS coordinates when they were available. I plan to add that information for Volumes 2, 3, and 5 as soon as possible.

  • Volume 4 of the Tombstone Inscription series is now online. The surname index and location maps for all the cemeteries in Lincoln, Peru, and Westfield Townships are now available. Start here.

A side note about the "cem****" pages for each township with the map, location, directions, and tidbits of cemetery information: Volumes 4 and 6 (ONLINE only) now include the GPS coordinates for each cemetery (where that information was available). As soon as I can, I'll add the coordinates for the cemeteries in the other four volumes.

  • The transcripts of the Morrow County 1850 Census pages in the Ohio Archives were moved to a new location by the Archives administrator. The links here work now! My thanks to Pat Miller for giving me a "heads up" on that.

  • On the Links page here, added link to the Knox County Genealogical Society, which has valuable research records for Chester, Franklin, and South Bloomfield Townships - which were part of Knox County before Morrow was formed in 1848.

  • UPCOMING MCGS MEETING: February 28, 2009 - 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Library, Genealogy Annex Meeting Room
    Program: Clues in Calico
Presenter: Sharon Pinka of Lexington, Ohio
This program is about family quilts. Sharon has collected and researched old quilts for many years. She is adept at recognizing the era in which the quilt was made, the dyes used, and the patterns in the quilt. She can share many secrets about your quilt, how to care for it, and often times can provide an approximate value. We encourage the community to bring their old quilts to this meeting. Enjoy the program, as you will be an important part of the presentation. For more information contact: Betty Meier 1-740-397-4855
