Gaysport
Gaysport was originally owned by Jacob Ayers. Asa Gay Sr. bought the
property and laid out the village, naming it in his own favor (Gaysport) in
1880. It is in section twenty of the township. The first store and
warehouse was bulit by Moses Reeves. The village also had a (Star) hotel,
one steamgrist mill, black-smith shop, a grocery, the Blue Rock Post office,
a school, and church

Rural Dale
This village is on section twenty six on land that once belonged to Samuel
Millhouse in 1828 and was laid out by J. B. Millhouse in 1854. Most of the
housing already was there when it became a village or(town). The first house
was built by George Gibbons in 1816. The name of the village was originally
called "Rockville" but was changed for the coming of a post office. One of
the first stores was opened by Briggs and Kearns in 1836. At one time the
village had two stores, wagon shop, a funeral home, a switch board, a
black-smith shop and a saloon. At one time this village was a big town with
a board walk and all.

Kiefer (historical)
Kiefer was in section eleven. The original name was Ridgeway. The name
was changed when the post office was formed. Kiefer was named after a
General Kiefer. Doctor Coverdale was one of the first doctors there. The
village also had a store. There is a Fire Tower located there that people
would climb up and look for fires, and also a landing strip for planes.
