William Bowman to Michael Till - 1843

Know all men by these presents That we William Bollman and Elizabeth Bollman his wife of the County of Muskingum in the State of Ohio for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars to us in hand paid by Michael Till of the County of Muskingum and State of Ohio the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien covey and confirm unto the said Michael Till his heirs and assigns forever A certain piece of parcel of land lying and being in the Northwest corner of said Bollman’s Tract purchased from Moses Ayers the said tract lying on the South Side of the South East quarter of Section Eleven in Township Eleven of Range Thirteen of the Land directed to be sold in Zanesville Ohio and divided by an East and West line the above piece of parcel of land purchased by said Till commencing at the North East Corner of said lot running West two chains and eighty two links. Thence South four chains Thence to the North East corner (the place of Beginning) four chains Eighty nine links containing two roods and ten perches nearby.  To have and to hold the said granted premises with all the appurtenances and privileges to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said Michael Till his heirs and assigns to their own proper use benefit and behoof forever as a good and indefeasible estate in fee simple and we the said William Bollman and Elizabeth Bollman for ourselves and for our heirs executors and administrators do covenant with the said Michael Till his heirs and assigns that before and until the sealing and delivery of these presents we were lawfully seized in fee if the above granted premises and appurtenances that we have good right full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same to the said Till that the said premises are free from all incumberance whatever and that we do and will warrant and defend the same to the said Till his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims of all person whatsoever.  In witness thereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the Tenth day of July Anno Domini Eighteen Hundred and Forty one

I the subscriber an acting Justice of the peace within and for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that on this Tenth day of July Eighteen Hundred and Forty one before me personally appeared William Bollman and Elizabeth Bollman his wife grantors in the foregoing Deed and acknowledged the signing and sealing thereof to be their voluntary act and deed And the said Elizabeth Bollman being examined by me separately and apart from her said husband and the contents of said Deed having been by me made know to her She the Said Elizabeth Bollman upon such separate examination did declare that She did voluntarily sign seal and acknowledge the Said Deed and that she is still satisfied therewith.

Michael Till and his wife Barbara Till then sold this land to John B. Purcell , Bishop of Catholic Church for the purpose of a Catholic Burial Ground.   This deed follows the above.
