"Moses German, his wife Susannah, and their children moved to Hopewell township sometime between 1807 and 1810 from Baltimore Maryland. They came to this area with William Rutlege family whom were distant cousins. They cleared the land and set up farming the area. Their daughter Elizabeth who was born in 1792 married Samuel Williams there in 1810. They lived the rest of their lives in Hopewell township. Moses died August 15, 1854 with his wife following 5 days later. They are buried side by side in the Asbury cemetary in Hopewell township."
