Online Records Sources
Starting in January 2003, a new surname submission process was initiated. Since many people can not follow directions and many submissions have been returned due to the incorrect format, I thought it would be easier to create a form that you fill out and submit rather than creating an email yourself. Submitted surname should be those that you know lived in Muskingum county at some time. If you are not sure and are looking for more information, then please do not submit your surname here. Instead use the Mailing list or Message board for this county.
The above link will bring up a new window where you fill out the information and hit the submit button. Instructions are provided in the form. This is not a query system although there is now a way to include details as to location of your surnames, a time-line or a homepage where information on those surnames can be found. I hope this makes your surname submission process easier on both of us. There is no need to re-submit any name that already exists on this page that you have previously submitted. That will only cause duplications.
SUBMITTING SURNAME ADDRESS CHANGES
If you have previously submitted surnames to the surname system and have changed your email address, the following link will allow you to submit that change. You must include the old address so the process can find what to change.
THE OLD QUERY SYSTEM HAS BEEN PHASED OUT
Due to old and non-working email addresses, the OLD Query System, which is no longer supported by Rotsweb, has been removed. Any querys should be directed to the OHMUSKIN Mailing List or the Muskingum Message Boards on Rootsweb/Ancestry.com. he latter is was meant to be a replacement for the Query System.
SUBMITTING ADDITIONAL CHANGES
If you want to update or add a webpage url or additional information on your ancestors such as location and or time lines, please email me at Denny Shirer and include an explanation of what you want to change or add. This is only for previously submitted surnames. New surname submissions should use the process described above as it also allows you to include a url and additional information.
