  • Diamond International Corporation - [printing, paperboard cartons, lumber, matches, papers, packaging machinery, plastic products, metal containers, aerosol cans, etc.] large corporation that acquired several Norwood businesses; Originally formed in 1880 in Connecticut, which as The Diamond Match Company was incorporated in 1889 in Illinois, it was dissolved and then incorporated as a holding company in Delaware on Dec. 26, 1930, with the same name and as the principal operating subsidiary, Diamond Match Company of Maryland (inc. May 7, 1930) from Jan. 1, 1931, to March 31, 1936, when it was liquidated into the parent company ; named was changed to Diamond Gardner Company on Nov. 4, 1957; to Diamond National Corp. on Sept. 28, 1959; and Diamond International Corp. on October 22, 1964; there were many aquisitions and mergers, here are the Norwood ones: U.
