Edward Zills
Edward Zills – son of Nancy Zills, was born in Jackson County, Ohio September 15, 1841, and settled in this county in 1872. He was married in Shelby County, March 25, 1870, to Adaline Galloway, who was born in that county March 25, 1851. Their son, Freddie, was born April 12, 1870, and his maternal grandparents are Henry and Sarah (Redman) Galloway. Mr. Zills was a member of Company D., 27th Ohio (colored), under Captain Bartlett; was in the battles of the Wilderness, Seige of Petersburg and Richmond, Fort Fisher, North Carolina; and was discharged September 21, 1865. George H. Galloway, brother of Mrs. Galloway, was in the 27th Ohio (colored); died of camp fever at Fredericksburg, Virginia, August 1864. Edward Zills is a farmer. Address, Pleasant Point, Paulding County, Ohio.
