Robert B. Castle
Robert B. Castle - was born in Clark county, Ohio, February 25, 1843; is the son of John, deceased, and Rachel (Brothers) Castle, who lives with her son Robert; is in her 74th year. In Paulding county, March 14, 1866, Rebecca E. Patterson became his wife, and their family are: Rachel A., born December 21, 1866; George W., March 20, 1869, died August 10, 1870; Virginia M., October 10, 1871; John F., March 12, 1874; Maggie M., September 23, 1876; Carrie A., May 2, 1879; Myrtie C., August 26, 1881. Mrs. Castle’s parents are John and Elizabeth (Dicus) Patterson, settlers in this county in 1853. Mr. Castle served in the war, in the 118th Ohio, Company H; enlisted September 22, 1862, discharged July 10, 1865, at the close of the war. His brother George was in the army; died of brain fever, at Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Castle received a wound in his left leg, below the knee, and the ball has never been extracted; he is expecting a pension of six dollars per month from the date of his discharge. His wife’s grandfather was in the war of 1776. Business, farming. Address, Ottoville, Putnam county, Ohio.
