Truman Wayne Taylor




Truman Wayne Taylor - settled in this county in March, 1870. He and his wife, Sophrona Wingert, were both born and married in Franklin county; he on May 28, 1848; she on September 6, 1847, and the latter event on the 13th day of March, 1870. Their children are: Georgia Lian, born March 7, 1871; Sylvia Anna, December 31, 1872; Sarah Almetta, December 15, 1874. The paternal grandparents of these children were John Pike and Rebecca (Perfect) Taylor, both deceased in Franklin county; the former on September 9, 1879, the latter February 22, 1858. The maternal grandparents are John and Mary (Witmire) Wingert, both deceased, the latter in Franklin county. Mr. Taylor was one term Trustee of this township; has a fine farm of one hundred and twenty acres. He attended one term at Central College, Ohio, then one term at Adrian, Michigan, when he returned home and went to running a saw mill in Fairfield county, Ohio; thence to Franklin, where he remained a year, sold out and went to farming, which business he has followed ever since.
