Roger W. Grooms
Roger Wheeler Grooms was born in Pike County, Ohio, May 12, 1884, and died June 1, 1948. He was the son of Abraham and Massie Ann Grooms, both deceased. His entire life was spent in Adams and Pike Counties.
He married Ella Alice Riley on April 1, 1911, and they had 11 children: Mrs. Edna Nixon, Cleo, Velma, Opal and Eula Jean Grooms, Mrs. Lucille Newman, Mrs. Mae Estep, Berlin and Junior Grooms. Two infants sons, Leo and Casey, preceded him in death. Beside his wife and nine children, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Stansberry, and two brothers, Noah and Byrd Grooms.
