Wesley B. Brown , son of John H. and Sarah S. (Beauchamp) Brown, was born in Marion Township, Pike County, Ohio, April  7, 1840.   November 28, 1861, he was married to Icy Bennett, daughter of Caleb and Eliza Bennett, early settlers of Scioto County.  August 12,  1862, he enlisted in Company G, Ninety-first Ohio Infantry, and served till the close of the war.  At the battle of Winchester, October 19, 1864, he was severely wounded in the right breast, disabling him two months.  He was discharged June 28, 1865.  Mr. Brown has a fine farm of eighty acres.  He and his wife are members of the Protestant Methodist Church, and he is an inveterate worker in the Sabbath School, being Superintendent for many years.
