 Leonidas (Ott) Warne Grand Marshall
PIKE NATIVE IS PARADE GRAND MARSHALL (1976)

A native of Pike County, Leonidas (Ott) Warne, served as the honorary Grand Marshall of Sunday's Bicentennial parade in Portsmouth.  The 101 - year old Mr. Warne, a resident of the Rendevous Medi-Home near Portsmouth, and 103 year old Sarah Elizabeth Fannin, of Golden Years Convalescent Center, were honorary King and Queen for the Day in Portsmouth's celebration.

Mr. Warne was born in Pike County on Christmas Day, 1874, and was reared in the Sunfish Creek area.  He is a former dairy, beef and chicken farmer and is father of four and grandfather of five.
