Houghland, 75 year old Peebles, Route 1 farmer.  He died at 3 A.M. July 4 in Chillicothe Hospital.  Born in Adams County on June 6, 1881, he was a son of Loren and Mary Grooms Hougland. A retired farmer he lived in the same community his entire lifetime and had many friends throughout western Pike County.  He is survived by his wife, Callie; four sons, Forest, Harold, Burl and Kenneth, all of Peebles, Route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Legg and Virginia of Peebles, Route 1, and two sisters, Miss Fianna Houghland of Peebles, Route 1, and Mrs. Amy Murphy, of New Vienna.  Rev. Note here: He died July 4, 1956. In this obituary, Hougland is spelled various ways which is a mystery to me.
