The scene most amusing probably was that of a bet by Nort Marvin and Bird Mustard on the following conditions. That is McKinley was elected, Mustard was to wheel Marvin through Jasper on a wheel-barrow, and if Bryan was elected, Marvin to wheel Mustard through town.
So on Wednesday morning Mustard was promptly on hands with his wheel-barrow. They were met a short distance out with a flag; Marvin got in and carried the flag, while somebody played a French harp and somebody else sung. Mr. Mustard wheeled him through town to the post office, amid immense merriment by all who witnessed the scene.
