He died in 1968 in Ohio. My baby book says his father was Samuel Parker and Samuels father was Allan Parker. Samuel was married to Cora Mae Ervin who was born 1869 in Jefferson Ohio and died 1960. I would guess that Samuel was born around 1880-1870 and Allan (Allen) 1850-1860. I don't know if they were born in Ohio. Any information would be helpful. Vernon's first wife was Thelma Bissell from Ravenna Ohio.

Did James McConnell REED get his middle name from his mother's family? J.Mabel was Methodist, of Protestant Irish descent. Father was from Cornwall, so REED family must have been the Irish side. Mentioned in a WARNE family genealogy, Arthur WARNE's wife Martha REED's family was "from the south." ALLEN, BENNETT, MARTIN posted by Dana on Thursday, February 25, 1999

Looking for any information for a Phebe MARTIN b. 1832 in OH. Parents and siblings are unknown. She turns up in Long Point Livingston Co, IL marrried to Peter BENNETT I believe she was his 2nd wife, as the 1860 census shows children in the home 12, 14 & 17 yrs old, and she married him 2 Jan 1858. She may have also been widowed, married name ALLEN, because the same census shows children last name ALLEN ages 5 & twins 3. Or her maiden name could have been ALLEN and the young children relatives?

WADSWORTH, WELLS posted by Cheryl Reynolds Kenter on Sunday, February 28, 1999

Need help establishing when OH changed from being the Western Reserve of CT to the name OH. I have Samuel A. WADSWORTH b. circa 1803 in CT he or someone states in the US Census. By 1850 he was living in Portage Co., OH. He was a moulder in the Census. Where in the state would one be trained to do that type of work circa 1820? Is there one region that would be more pron to this type of activity? I understand there were a lot of WADSWORTH families living in Trimbel Co and still are. Could that be the place that Samuel lived before Portage? Could or would he claim birth in CT if he was born in the Western Reserve? Can anyone offer ideas or suggestions? He is a bit of a brick wall. He was married to Jane who was born in NY....don't have a clue as to the place of the marriage. Only two proved children, Lura (Laura) and Wheeler. Wheeler died unmarried in a train accident in OH. Lura married William A. Wells in Lenawee Co., MI, but was born in OH, abt. 1840 and ! ! Wheeler in 1845 in OH. Anyone know anything about this family or these questions, please contact me. I apprecaite any help you can offer in this matter.
