I am seeking information on the RYAN family. I have received several leads that point to STARK County in the north and/or Clinton/Brown Counties in the South with no success. Also have a census record pointing to Hardin County, but Can't seem to find the missing link. Family history lists the RYAN family as native american indians who were "on the move" making them difficult at best to trace. Any Leads appreciated. The family line to date includes the following: James Ryan b. 1821 d. 1907 married to Eve Ann Beamer b. 1859 d. 1883. This is the information that I have on my father’s family. My grandfather Milton James SHEEN b. June 1839 in Holmes County, Ohio. ( had sons who were named James William and Marion Thomas).Served in Civil War, m. 1865 in Williams Cty, lived in William cty and Washington twp, Paulding cty, died 1905 in Allen Cty. buried in Paulding cty. His father William Sheen 1840 Millersburg, Holmes cty census was 30-40 yrs old with 5 boys and a wife.( can find no records on family in Holmes Cty.) In 1850 census I found Milton in Perry Twp, Putnam county with William Shehen age 61. Relationship not verified. Others: Sarah 28,William Jr. 23, Jackson 20, Milton 11, William 9, Nancy 5. In 1850 census I found a Thomas Sheen age 22 in a Railroad boarding house in Stark Cty. In 1860 census William D. Shehan age 75 still in Perry twp, Putnam cty. Others: William 27, Milton 21, William Cox 17. Next door: John Wheeler 23, Sarah 30, Nancy Cox 15, Wm Shehan 3. John Wheeler was Milton’s friend who gave affidavit in 1881 on Milton’s behalf on medical condition due to civil war. ( Found affidavit in pension papers in D.C. Archives.) Milton enlisted in the war in Toledo in 1864. I need to verify that William Sheen’s father was William Shehen(Shehan) I was told by my father that there was a name change from McShehan (spelling ?) to Sheen. Family came from Pennsylvania to Ohio. Dated April 5, 1999.

Hi ! I look for one of my "lost" relatives from Germany ! My GGfather Alfred Beck born Sep.5th 1885 in Buchholz/Germany left Germany in 1913.(religion: lutheran) My grandma told me that he probably setteled down in Ohio and became an US-citizen as far as she knows. My problem is that he changed his name in the US ! I have learned that there is a chance finding him through other sources. Because he came back to Germany around 1923 he probably had a passport. I think there must be some naturalization-record and/or passport-application. Maybe there is another chance finding him through the Ohio-Death-Index. But I do not know how to get access to these records because I am German and I do not know whether the "Freedom of Information"-Act covers my research. It would be very nice if you could help me. I have Henry LONG/LANG born abt 1808 in Ohio, married Elizabeth CARMEN born abt 1808 in Maryland, they had 11 children, I know the name of 7. Samuel, Mary, Malinda, Lucinda, Mary E., Joseph, Henry. The last child was born in about 1850 in Logansport Indiana where the family moved.

Cornelius V. PRESGRAVES b. 23 Apr 1884 in Gilbert, Muskingum Co., OH. He was the son of David and Malinda (Bowerss) Presgraves. He md. I am looking for any information on Florence (Annette)Reams Woods, her second husband Frank Woods and Florence's son Charles Aaron Reams. Florence was married to my great-grandfather Francis Earl Reams on Nov.26 1902 I don't know where they were married. I do know they lived in the Toledo area. Francis was killed December 21 1912 at 29 years of age. He left behind his wife Florence and two sons, Frank, my grandfather (b.Aug.31 1903 d.June 6 1986) and Charles Aaron b. Jan. 24 1907. Charles died in the 1940's of TB. At that time he was living in the Toledo area. Nothing to date is known about Frank Woods and Florence Woods,their birthdates, when they were married and where and when they died. According to a newpaper clipping Florence died before Frank. If anyone has any information on these 3 people please let me know.

I am doing this for a friend, whose husband learned just yesterday, that he is the illegitimate son of a US Navy sailer by the name of Larry Owens. He was told by an uncle what his father's name was and what state he was from, which is Ohio. This gentleman was stationed at NAS Glynco, Ga in 1959. Miller, James C. or Beulah A. or Harley I am looking for information about my grandparents, James Clarence Miller and Beulah Miller, and the accident and death of their first child, Harley. They were living in Ohio at the time of his death. He was hit by a car sometime during the 1920's. I feel that there must be an account or some record of this somewhere.
