He came over on the ship "New England" from Bremerhaven to New Orleans. I would greatly appreciate any information you might be able to provide. (The Shohluken name was shortened to Schoo in Germany, and appears to have been shortened in the US also, so it is possible a listing could be under Schoo).

I'm hoping to learn the date of birth, full name, and death date, of my husband's uncle. I don't know what county of Ohio he might have been born. Not sure of year, except that the family said of his siblings that NORMA was the eldest. His siblings: NORMA R. EDWARDS was born in Syracuse OH in May 1888; PAUL EDWARDS was born Scioto Co. Have a MI obituary for his son that says the son grew up in Ohio This would be 1825 for the son and longer for the father, Samuel. This Samuel had several sons and 2 daughters. This is all the information I have, but I am hoping for a clue as to county to know where to begin looking.

Also looking for Francis CHERRY born ca 1830 in OH.; Elizabeth CHERRY born ca 1834 in OH; Nicholas CHERRY born 14 June 1835 in OH married Susan DAVIS in Clark Co., Mo in 1865; and Harriet CHERRY born ca 1839 in OH. These are all children of William D CHERRY. They were probably born in Noble, Guernsey or Muskingum Co.

In Jackson Co., Ohio, Gustav m. Kate Manning daughter of Thomas and Catherine Manning. Gustav moved to Charleston WV and entered the jewelry business with his father. I am looking for family history of the Stolles.

FRY posted by Kathy Chiappetta on Thursday, October 28, 1999: Looking for information on the family of John FRY. John FRY was born in Copenhagen, Lewis co, NY in 1816. According to his obit in S.Dakota in 1895 "John's early life was passed in the wilds of Ohio, where his parents emigrated". There was also at least one older brother who eventually moved to Canada. This is probably in the 1820's. Possibly I'm looking for the names John or Abraham. They were in the 1820 Lewis County, NY census, but not there in the 1830 census. Thank you for posting this.
