HOLZAPFEL, HUNT, PUCKETT, ZUCK posted by Deborah Maddox on Monday, January 3, 2000

I am trying to locate my gggrandmother, Elmire Zuck and family members and parents name. I found her in the 1880 White County, Illinois Census. She married Joseph E. Hunt on January 1875 in White Co., Illinois. Elmire Zuck was born in Ohio. According to her marriage certificate she was 23 years old in January 1875. Apparently Elmire Zuck Hunt died when their son Asa Staley Hunt was 6 or 7 years old. Asa Staley Hunt was born to Elmire Zuck and Joseph Elliott Hunt in July 1881 in Carmi, Illinois. In addition, in the 1880 census which would be before Asa Hunt was born, it shows Odis T. Hunt as a 2 year old son and a 10 year old boy named John Puckett living with Joseph E. Hunt and Elmira (wife). Nothing is known of these other two boys. If you can help in anyway with connections to Elmire Zuck, please email me at: scvolsfan@juno.com. Thanks and Happy New Year!

His is in the middle class, I presume "2". What does this info mean. Also states entry 528. Can I find more detail by that entry number somewhere? Thanks.

BECK, BOWSER posted by Lisa on Friday, January 28, 2000

I am looking for information on a Adam Bowser family who lived in Ohio around 1816 and later moved to Indiana. This is what I know of the family. Rebecca and Barbara Bowser (whom both married Gottlieb Beck) were of German descent and born in Ohio. They were the daughters of Adam Bowser, a pioneer farmer, who settled in Indiiana, and was one of the leading men of Indianapolis. Adam Bowser had the following family: Daniel; Henry; George; Sarah, Mrs. John Moore; Susan, Mrs. Mullen; Barbara, first wife of Gottlieb Beck; Rebecca, second wife of Gottlieb Beck. Those listed should be Adam's children. Barbara I believe married Gottlieb in Indiana on 12/27/1835 and died shortly thereafter. I do not know where Barbara is buried. Gottlieb then married Rebecca, possibly in Ohio, I have not found a record of this marriage yet but it would have taken place in 1836 or very early in 1837. Rebecca and Gottlieb's first child was born 12/1/1837. Any information on the Bowser f! amily would be greatly appreciated as this is all I have on them. Thank you in advance.
