I am trying to help a friend William Edwin Ford/Stephen Smith find his biological family his adoptee Mom Helen Ford told him that his parents were originally from Ohio. She said that they were very young and since his adoption papers papers declare that his mother was his sole parent he assumed that his bio. parents weren't married. Stephen Smith/Bill Ford isn't even sure if this was the name that his mother gave him or if the system gave him this name. Stephen/Bill was born August 23, 1949 in a Kansas City, Mo. hospital his adoptive parents pettioned the court on June 29, 1950 for his adoption. His adoptive mother Helen Ford told him that they took him directly from the hosptial in Kansas City, Jackson County, Mo. to their home in South Greenfield, Dade County, Missouri. I am hoping that maybe if there was other children that if they was told that their mother was from Ohio they might visit this web page too. Bill would very much like to establish a connection w! ith his biological family, as is hoping that maybe though this site he might be able to find some of them, or with someone who might have more information.

I have never found ANYWHERE, the name of JOB GROSS, except on an OHIO Census, 1840-1849 CD #316, from Family Tree Maker. I haven't had access to this CD yet. I would love to hear from ANYONE who may know anything about a JOB GROSS. My mother was LETA MAE FULLER. My father was LESTER ALVAH GROSS...his father GEORGE WASHINGTON GROSS....His father was JOB GROSS. JOB GROSS was married to a "LIDA" DEMPSEY, supposedly a cousin to the prize figher, JACK DEMPSEY. JOB and LIDA (probably an aka?) lived in NEWTON, HARVEY, KANSAS, where my Grandfather GEORGE WASHINGTON GROSS was born. (Said that JOB and LIDA may have moved to Missouri in later years). Story has it that JOB and LIDA GROSS had a very large family.....16 or 17 children. Unk if same mother. GEORGE left home about age 13 or so, and wouldn't talk about his family, so nothing more is known by any of the rest of this branch of the GROSS Family, other than that GEORGE had one brother named "AL" and I think a ! "BILL." I would like to communicate with anyone who may know anything about a JOB GROSS....hoping that his name too, is not aka! Thank you.........

These pictures contained children's pictures, adults and family members of the Moore family. The family are of white race. My brother said the guy who purchased the bus lived in Dunglen,OH., Jefferson County. MY MOTHER IS 79 YEARS OLD AND HAS EXPRESSED THROUGH THE YEARS THAT THE PICTURES MIRACOUSLY SURVIVED AND MAKE IT'S WAY BACK TO HER. I am hoping someone can help. I WILL GLADLY PAY FOR THE PICTURES AND POSTAGE SHOULD THEY BE FOUND. I also am hoping to locate someone who could provide me any information such as look up for title transfer etc., so I can try to track the people who bought the bus to see if they may have information on these pictures. YOUR HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Joseph Shepherd and Sarah (Freas) married about 1815 in Washington Co, PA and later moved to northeastern PA. Joseph died in Portage county, OH in 1839. He was a Rev. War veteran and in his pension file, his son, Ezekiel stated that after his death, his mother continued to live in northeast Ohio near her "kindred". I am seeking any possible Freas families who may have been in any of the northeastern counties of Ohio from about 1820 until about 1860. While I do know where Joseph died, we're not sure where her family lived.

Jonathan Hazlett(1815-1902). Jonathan Hazlett was a farmer in Butler County, PA from about 1840 to sometime in the 1880's. He married Mary Ann Hazlett (same surname) about 1840 and had many children, most of whom remained in Butler and Allegheny Counties. He may be the grandson of the James Hazlett (1750-1834) who lived in Menno Township, Mifflin County, PA. Two of James' children, Samuel and William, relocated to Perry and Muskingum Counties in Ohio. Samuel had a son named John Milton Hazlett who lived in the Brownsville area. Jonathan also had a son named John Milton Hazlett, who was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He also had a son named George Hamilton Hazlett and a grandson named Milton Howard Hazlett. The name Milton is not that common. Since there is a strong possibility that James from Mifflin County was the common ancestor of all these folks, the common thread of the use of "Milton" and its variations adds credence to this possibility. My question is this: Jonathan and his wife Mary Ann disappeared from Butler County, PA in the 1880's. Did they move to Ohio to join relatives there? I am focusing on the possibility that they may have joined up with some of Samuel's clan, perhaps his son John Milton. Does anyone out there know of an Ohio Jonathan Hazlett (or Haslett) and his wife Mary Ann? Any leads, however suspect, will be appreciated.
