BROCK posted by Wilma Robinson on Thursday, March 1, 2001

I am searching for a Evander(Levander) BROCK who we think moved to Ohio. At one time he may have been in Shelby County, but we found nothing there except his name on a census they had then that all men over 21 had to sign at tax time. I know he was born in Tennessee , He probably left Bledsoe county Tennessee after 1860 at that time he would have been in his early twenties. His mother was Elizabeth and she was born in Virginia .He had three brothers and a sister named Martha who was deaf and mute. If anyone has any information on what happened to him or if he has a family please contact me.

I am looking for information on my maternal grandfather's family. All I know is his name was George Hutchings born 3/27/1897 in Montgomery Co. (possibly Dayton proper) to George S. Hutchings and Alma Wasson. Siblings were Naomi Faye, Walter and Dorothy. George Hutchings married Miriam Aberle (born 3/9/1897) on 4/5/1917. As far as I know they immediately moved to Detroit, MI. I know nothing about his parents (George S, and Alma) where they were from, were they lived in Dayton, etc. All of the folks I just mentioned are buried in Dayton. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do know the following facts: Walter drowned during the big flood of (?) 1904, I know they lived at one point on Rung St. which no longer exists and I know Naomi went to Steel High School. Thanks!

HAUGHEE, HAWHEE, HAWKEE posted by Kaye Haughee on Sunday, March 25, 2001

Arthur and Nancy HAUGHEE (HAWHEE) (HAWKEE) or other variations in the Indiana census lived in Ohio somewhere several times. They were there in 1812-1819 because their last two daughters were born there. Elizabeth and Catherine. They moved back and forth from Pa. to Ohio at least a couple of times. Oldest son Thomas born in Pa. in 1800. James S. was born in Ohio in 1804, Arthur is born in Pa. 1805. Sarah in Ohio in 1806. Benjamin in Pa. in 1811. These dates are according to the Indiana 1820 census. The family then stayed in Indiana. We cannot locate them in any other state as yet on any other census. Appreciate any help we can get.

SAYER, SAYERS, SAYRE posted by Ralph Sayre on Tuesday, March 27, 2001

I need a look-up in 1850 Ohio Census INDEX. If anyone has a complete Census Index for the 1850 Ohio Census, I am trying to find SETH SAYRE. The surname could be spelled SayER, SayERS, SayRES, or SEARS. He was in the Ross County 1830 Ohio Census as "Saith Sears." I found him in Ross County 1830, 1840, and 1860. He died there in 1885. I would like to find a household family group for him in 1850. He surely must have been in Ross or a nearby county.
