I am looking for information on a B.P. Davis who moved from Ohio to Georgia in the years following the Civil war. His son, James Fulton Davis, was my ggrandfather. I know that James Fulton was a boy when the family moved to Georgia. They lived in Bartow County GA in a town that is now called Snow Springs but I am not sure how old that name is. I know that he had other children that also made the move to GA. I do not know if his wife moved with him or what part of Ohio he was from. Any information would be appreciated. Or, any tips on how I might track him down would be appreciated. Jan

Searching for family of origin & ancestors of Sarah FITZPATRICK. According to her obituary, she was born in Pennsylvania on 28 July 1818. When she was two years of age she moved with her family to Ohio where she grew up and married a William NORVAL, by whom she had one son, Thomas NORVAL (b. 1838). William Norval lived only a short time. Sarah and her son apparently moved with her family of origin to Pike county, Illinois. She then married William McATEE. Thank you in advance for any information.

I am researching Samuel Williams who was in Ohio at one time. He married Sarah Preston of Kentucky. A son, Squire Edgar Williams was born in Ohio in December, 1845. Squire married Joanna Brown of Ohio Grove, IL in 1870 and migrated into Iowa and Missouri. Any information on Samuel and/or Sarah would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I'm trying to find information on my great great grandfather Philip JONES. Here is what I have on my great grandfather Andrew Jones who was a veteran of the Civil War (Company H - Indiana volunteers): According to the Switz. Co. Health Dept., Andrew Jones was born Sept. 28 1844 in Ohio and died May 6 1923. His father was Philip Jones born in Ohio, his mother was ___ Hammel, also born in Ohio. His wife Harriet's maiden name was Todd. She was born Sept. 2 1850 in IN, and died Feb. 23 1923. Her father was James Todd, born in IN, and ___ Day, also born in IN. Do you have any suggestions where I can look for information on Philip? Any assistance would be appreciated as I would like to join the first families of Ohio group.

I would like to post a query for my ancestor John WHALES. He grew up in the Western Reserve, was a half-blood Native American, and I estimate hewas born about 1740. After having a fight, he escaped by swimming the Ohio River and went to Maine. We have records in Maine but not Ohio. I would like to identify his tribe. I am sure he left relatives in Ohio; one clue is the 1800 census listing George Whale of Middleton township of Washington County. What town would that correspond to today? Sincerely,

I am looking for a Brainerd WILLARD ( KS land records spell it this way) I know he had at least 3 sons born in Ohio according to the 1880 KS census they are Edward M 1849, Charles B 1853(about) Walter 1861 (about) I have yet to figure out where in Ohio they came from. He was born in New York. His wife was Mary E ( no maiden name). they came to KS in 1871. They may of had more than the 3 boys this is all we know for sure. they had to be some where in ohio between 1849 and 1961 for the 3 boys to be born there. Any info or ideas on counties where Willards settled so i can check records. would be appreciated, thanks

I am searching for Henry T. D. YOUNG born somewhere in Ohio July 4, 1847. This information comes from a census record in Missouri Chariton Cty. 1880. It also says his father was born in Ohio. Do not know who his parents were, where he came from, nor any background, not a clue. Unless it could be found in the names of his children. They were David Erastus, Amelia, Calvin Mack, Minnie L./S., Warren L., Robert Emmert, Mary E., Nora A. All of these children were born in Chariton Cty. MO. He purchased land with his in-laws. His wife Cyrena SMITH was born in Indiana, but they must have met in Mo. as she was found living with her parents in Knox Cty. MO., in 1870. census. I do know you have a Warren Cty. in your state. Maybe as we all know that chase the genealogy path names can come from an area and County is a possible place. Any suggestions and the best contact would of course be a relative. In the mean while good luck to all in their search. Judy Young

SIMEON C. (Casmon?) CRAMER, born about 1848, OHIO. Parents and possibly siblings unknown, as is the name of the county of birth. We have been unable to find Simeon C. Cramer (aka S. C. Cramer) from his birth until his first known marriage April 25, 1875, Douglas Co. Oregon. He doesn't appear to be in an index of the 1870 Oregon census. We can follow much of his life from his first or four wives as he seemed to get around all over the country from Ohio to Oregon to Mississippi, to possibly Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and California, where he died in 1929. Every document that normally gives the name of parents is always either blank or "unknown" even to his children. The 1850 census index provided plenty of Cramers of various spellings for searching in OHIO. None seemed to have a young son named Simeon or Casmon or S. C. Cramer. If anyone knows the county of his birth or anything about his parents and siblings, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
