SourceTHE OHIO LIBERAL, 28 November 1883

MANSFIELD – November 24. – The quidnuncs are to-day rolling under their tongues a choice morsel of scandal afforded by the arrest of William F. Crosier, a young married man of this city, on a charge of bastardy preferred by Miss Cora J. Gilkinson, who alleges that Crosier is the father of her unborn child.  Miss Gilkinson is a rather pretty and modest appearing girl of eighteen, but is reputed to be a little promiscuous in the bestowal of her affections.  Crosier, who has a young and handsome wife and one child, formerly lived at Wellington, but for the past year has been a resident of this city, where he married his wife.  The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.  Justice W.H. Patterson placed him under bonds of $600 to answer to the charge at the December term of Common Pleas Court.  – Reprinted from the Enquirer (26th.)
