Louis Krebs, of the German Lutheran Church, on West Third Street, has resigned his pastorate on account of his advancing age.  He read his letter to his congregation Sunday and at the annual meeting Sunday afternoon the church council accepted it.  The resignation goes into effect June 1.  His year is up May 1, but he asked the privilege of officiating as pastor until a month later so that he will confirm the class of catechism students he now has.  Mr. Krebs was 70 years of age last month and for sometime past he has been saying that at seventy he would retire so that his resignation in one sense of the word, is no surprise.  He will make his home in Mansfield.  He has been pastor of that church for fifteen years."  [Mansfield Evening News:  07 January 1890, Vol. 5, No. 261]
