The following persons have been naturalized: Daniel Westly, soldier from Holland, William Hartford of Ireland, Jacob Stromberger of Germany, Ernest Beam of Prussia, Adam Shafer of Germany, Rudolph Yennie of Switzerland, Louis Wagner of Germany and John Miller of Germany. Arnold Graf, of Switzerland, has filed his application for citizenship. [MANSFIELD HERALD, 12 September 1889, Vol. 39, No. 43]
Friday. Mrs. Alice Cornwall Judson, wife of Dr. Judson, is the first woman to make application in Richland County to become a naturalized citizen. She came from Canada in 1885 and, as she was over 18 years old at the time, she could only make application for naturalization papers, which she did in Probate Court this morning. John G. Knopfle, of Germany, received his final naturalization papers Thursday. [MANSFIELD HERALD: 24 July 1890, Vol. 40, No. 36]
