DIED -- Near Bellville, March 8th., 1874, JOHN JOHNS, aged 66 years, 11 months and 9 days.

Mr. Johns came to this vicinity in the year 1822, and has made it his home ever since, it being a period of 52 years.  Few men are now living who did more than he in subduing this then wilderness country, and making it what it now is.  In manner Mr. Johns was unassuming, upright and honest in his dealings with his fellow-men. He leaves a widow and a large family of children to mourn his loss.

The funeral sermon will be preached at the Universalist Church, next Sabbath, at 11 o'clock A.M. by Rev. W.B. Woodbury.
