Monday -- Jacob Yates, a farmer near Butler, was buried at that place Sunday. His death was caused by an abscess in his side which was produced by being struck in the side by a plow handle 10 days ago.

BUTLER -- Jacob Cates died last Saturday morning at his home, one mile west of town, from being hurt by a plow handle striking him in the side and injuring him internally. His age was 35 years, 5 months and 27 days. Funeral Sunday at 2 p.m. at the M.E. Church at Butler, services conducted by the Rev. J.W. Kyle of Bellville. Interment in the Butler Cemetery.
