A more thorough obituary for William Tomlinson appeared later in the same paper ...

W.H. Tomlinson was born in Bloominggrove Twp. June 15, 1838;  was married to Miss M.O. Turbett of Mansfield, O., Feb. 12, 1863;  died Aug. 3, 1896.  This union was blessed with two children, one son, N.J. Tomlinson, who is living and was present with his mother at the funeral, the other, a daughter, having died in infancy.  His illness was of three months' duration, the last six weeks being weeks of extreme suffering, but he bore it with great Christian fortitude.  He often expressed a desire to depart and be with Christ.  He experienced religion under the labors of Rev. James Gillsay and united with the M.E. church at Rome in the year 1871.  He has ever since remained a member of the M.E. church, ever striving to live a Christian life.  He was greatly devoted to his family, ever laboring for their welfare.  He was a devoted husband and a kind and indulgent father and his death has fallen heavily on the widow and son, who are almost distracted with grief.  But they're sorry not as those that have no hope for they feel that their loss is his eternal gain.
