George Shafer of 24 Buckingham Street died this morning at 10:30 of heart failure.  He fell dead in the backyard at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Armstrong, with whom he lived.  He was a member of German Church and a respected citizen.  The funeral will be held Thursday at the residences.
