Iams, Mary M. -- Mrs. Mary M. Iams, relict of the Rev. F.M. Iams, formerly pastor of the Baptist church in this city, died at the home of her son, W.H. Iams, in Bucyrus, Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 21, aged 65 years. Her husband's death occurred in Jan. 1892. [Semi-Weekly News: 24 December 1897, Vol. 13, No. 103]
Iams, Ralph G. -- Ralph G. Iams, 72, of 600 Ashland Rd., died Tuesday evening in the Crestwood Care Center, Shelby, following a four-year illness. He was born May 4, 1899 in Upper Sandusky and came here 45 years ago. Mr. Iams was a retired employee of Empire Steel, and a member of the First Christian Church, Moose Lodge, and the Retmen's Club. Surviving are his wife, Nola Herman Iams; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Janice) Smith of Bellville and Mrs. Evelyn Welker of 767 Lenox Ave.; six grandchildren; one brother, Robert of Mansfield; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Mercer and Mrs. Frederick (Gladys).....Incomplete. Idler, Elizabeth -- Died, on the 5th. Dec. inst., at 11 o'clock, A.M., at the residence of Mr. C. Idler, in Indianapolis, Ia. [sic.], Mrs. Elizabeth Idler, aged 73 years. Ingold, Winston R. -- MANSFIELD - Winston R INGOLD, 79, of 872 Duke Ave died Sunday afternoon at Mansfield General Hospital following a brief illness. He was born 30 Dec 1908 in Carter County, KY, coming to Mansfield 35 years ago. He retired from Diebold Inc in Wooster after 15 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary J ROSS INGOLD; two sons, Gene of Mansfield and Earnest of Shelby; three daughters, Mrs Barbara GRABBE of Marshallville, OH, Mrs Janet STEINER of Bellville and Mrs Margaret FACKLER of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Calling hours at Finefrock Funeral Home will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Services will be Wednesday at 9:30 am in the funeral home by the Rev Monty Perry of Shelby Free Will Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev Doug Tackett. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Ink, ---- -- LEXINGTON -- Mrs. Ink, mother of George Ink, died on Monday; she came here from New York state some years ago and settled with her son on the old J. King farm. -- [THE MANSFIELD HERALD: 12 March 1885, Vol. 35, No. 17]
Ink, John Britton -- John Britton Ink, one of Mansfield's best known business men, died at his home, 69 Marvin Avenue, late Thursday, after an illness of a few days. Late Friday Mr. Ink went to Cleveland on a business trip where he was taken ill and was brought to his home. Mr. Ink was born at Plymouth, March 17, 1846, and at the age of 6 years moved with his family to Michigan where he lived until 19 years of age, when he returned to his home in Plymouth. In 1872 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary E. Nimmons who, with two children, Katherine and Harry E. Ink, survive him, two children, Lilla and Elizabeth, having preceded him in death. For many years Mr. Ink was a member of the dry goods firm of Reed, Ink & Lewis, but for the past twenty years has been vice-president and active in the business of the Ohio Suspender Company. He was an active member of Mansfield Lodge No. 56, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Brief funeral services will be held from the family home Saturday at 9 a.m., to which friends are invited. The burial will be later in Plymouth. Ink, Tracy -- Bellville. Tracy, one of Mr. & Mrs. C.N. Ink's twin babies, died on Saturday evening. The funeral took place from their home on Bell Street at 2 p.m. Monday. The services were conducted by Rev. John Kelly. -- [Richland Shield & Banner: 12 January 1889, Vol. LXXI, No. 34]
Ink, Tracy -- Little Tracy Ink, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Ink, died Saturday evening of lung fever, aged about four months. The funeral took place from their home on Monday afternoon, Rev. Innes, Alexander -- BUTLER -- Alexander Innes died at the home of his son, Charles Innes, near White Hall, Tuesday evening of last week, aged 80 years. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon and interment was in the Bunker Hill cemetery. Innes, Alexander -- BUNKER HILL -- The funeral of Alexander Innes who died Tuesday, August 23, was held Thursday afternoon of last week at the Clearfork church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Clarence Stewart. Mr. Innes was born in Scotland in 1841, and had passed his 80th. year at the time of death. He was twice married, both of his wives having preceded him in death. Among the surviving children is a daughter, Isabella Catherine Stevens, of Butler. Inscho/Inschoe Family -- The family of Mr. E.H. Inschoe near Plymouth, has during the past year been greatly afflicted. The oldest son and daughter, as well as a babe have all died recently, besides the father, mother and other members of the family have been sick. The eldest son and daughter were buried without the knowledge of the parents who were too ill to hear the shock. The people of Plymouth most deeply sympathize with the family. Irish, Araminta McDonald -- DEATH REMOVES BELLVILLES FIRST CIVIC SECRETARY -- Mrs. Harold E. Irish, Former Head of Community Work, Expires Very Suddenly. Hundreds of people of this town and community will be both pained and surprised to learn of the death of Mrs. Harold E. Irish, formerly Miss Araminta McDonald, first rural community secretary in Bellville. She died on April 9 at the home of her husband's parents at Auburn, N.Y. A clipping from the Hobart (N.Y.) newspaper was received this week by Miss Ruth Kelly, gives the following regarding the young woman: "She possessed rare intellectual gifts and attainments and also many endearing traits of character. She was ill only about four days. Infection which developed in a slight sore on her face, spread into the glands of the neck, and though surgery was resorted to and everything possible was done, human agencies were powerless to save her. Her sister, Miss Elizabeth McDonald, was with her throughout her illness, being summoned to Auburn by the illness of Mrs. Irish's infant son, shortly before Mrs. Irish herself was taken sick." "The funeral was held in St. John's church and the last rites attended by many sorrowing friends." "Araminta McDonald Irish was the youngest daughter of John T. McDonald, of Elk Creek, and had been a resident here nearly all her life. She graduated from the Moses Brown school at Providence, R.I. also finishing her course at Cornell in 1917. After her graduation she became one of the first rural community secretaries in the United States at Bellville, Ohio. She resigned her position at the time of her marriage to Lieut. Irish, of the Aviation Corps. and accompanied her husband to Texas." "Beside her husband she leaves a son, Robert Godwin, aged 7 months. She is also survived by her father and four sisters." Irvin, J. Frank -- J. Frank Irvin, a well-known Mansfield young man, died at 11:20 o'clock today at his home, on Augustine avenue after an illness of more than a year with tuberculosis of the bowels. He was born Sept. 25, 1877, in Wayne county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Irvin, both of whom survive him. Mr. Irvin has been a resident of Mansfield for the past six years. He was a graduate of the Ohio Business college and was employed for some time at the Monarch Stove Works. He was at one time a conductor on the Mansfield street car line. He leaves a wife, three sisters, Mrs. H. Mina Chapin, of St. Louis, Mich; Misses Virginia and Esther Irvin, of the city; and two brothers, W. D. Irvin and Lowell Irvin, both of this city. Mr. Irvin has a host of friends who will be sorry to learn of his untimely death. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Submitted by Faye and Jean. [Mansfield News: 08 March 1902]
Irwin, Charles L. -- Charles L. Irwin, after a lingering illness of two years, died at 2:10 o'clock this afternoon at his home on Park Avenue West. He was born Sept. 24, 1853 and was a son of the late Levi Irwin. Death resulted from an affliction of the right hip caused by a fall two years ago. Mr. Irwin was engaged in the drug business for many years and had a large circle of friends. He leaves a wife and four children. Irwin, Charles L. -- Thursday. The funeral of the late Charles L. Irwin will be held Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m., from the residence on Park Avenue West. Irwin, Charles L. -- Saturday. The funeral services of Charles L. Irwin were held at his late residence, 395 West Park Avenue, at 2 p.m., today. The services were conducted by Dr. D.J. Meese, assisted by Rev. Duston Kemble, and were attended by a large concourse of Charles' friends and relatives. The pallbearers were Emmett Baxter, A.L. Redrup, Hobart Scattergood, H.?. Irwin, Elizabeth -- Elizabeth, wife of George W. Irwin, died at the family residence, No. 178 East Fourth Street, at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday night aged 48 years. The deceased had been ill for some time and her death was not unexpected. Funeral from the residence Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. F.A. Gould officiating. Isch, Goldie L. Welty -- MANSFIELD - Goldie L. Welty Isch, 70, of 23 Dunbilt Court died Tuesday morning in the Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness. She was born April 18, 1919, in Lucas, and lived in the Mansfield area all of her life. Mrs. Isch was a retired employee of Mansfield General Hospital. She was a 40-year member of Park Avenue Baptist Church where she served on the Mission Board, was a member of the Dorcas Class and taught preschool Sunday school. Surviving are her husband, Paul L. Isch; three sons, Dennis and Kevin Isch, both of Mansfield and Larry Isch of Gahanna; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Welty of Orrville and Francis Welty of Ashland; two sisters, Ruth Whitinger and Lela Geer, both of Mansfield; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Welty, and her parents, James Arthur and Pearl Cross Welty. Calling hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Park Avenue Baptist Church by her pastor, the Rev. William Browsend. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Isch, Paul LaVernon -- MANSFIELD - Paul LaVernon Isch, 84, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital. He was born on February 23, 1917 in Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School class of 1936. He was a life-long resident of Mansfield and retired from the Ohio Brass Company after 47 years of service. He was an active member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Isch was an avid sports fan, following high school basketball and football. He was a loving husband and father and was a compassionate, forgiving, and thoughtful of others. Surviving are his three sons and daughter-in-law, Denny and Lary Jo Isch of Mansfield; Larry and Patricia Isch of Lucas; and Kevin and Renee Isch of Mansfield; seven grandchildren; Susan Flakenberg of Newark, Jason and Kristen Isch of Lucas, Jared Isch of Washington State, Zach Isch of Germany, Ian Isch and Nicole Stone, both of Mansfield, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Ish; his wife, Goldie Isch in 1990, with whome he had celebrated 50 years of marriage; and a brother John Ish Jr. Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Dr. James Kelsey. Ish, Effie May -- Effie May Ish, 5 months' old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Alexander Ish, of Tremont street, died this morning at 7:00 at the home of her parents. The cause of death was cholera infantum. Izer, Joseph -- Bellville. For want of space last week we omitted mentioning an accident which happened to Joseph Izer on the 16th. form the effects of which he died the following day. He was helping thresh when his fork caught in the web of the straw stacker and threw him to the ground a distance of twelve feet. He struck on his head and shoulders injuring his spine. He was about fifty-eight years of age and leaves a wife and seven children. The funeral services were conducted by rev. Musson, of Mt. Vernon. -- [Bellville Star: 02 September 1886, Vol. 9, No. 49]
