- In 1893 the cemetery trustees received a communication from the state board of health, assuring them that they could extend the cemetery 200 feet eastward without jeopardizing the health of any of the citizens of the village. [source: Richland Shield & Banner: 12 August 1893, Vol. LXXVI, No. 12]
