EAKIN --- R.J. EAKIN
....he was born in Pennsylvania, Oct. 22, 1840, and is a son of James and Hannah EAKIN; he remained at home until he was 21 years old, when he entered school at Coolville, Athens Co., Ohio, and was in different parts of the State until 1871, when he went to Savannah, where he acted as steward until 1876; when he went into the mercantile trade in Adario. Mr. and Mrs. EAKIN have one child.

EARNEST --- D. H. EARNEST
Born July 24, 1844, in Cumberland County, PA. Came to Richland County in 1858. Married 1868 to Iva Jane POCOCK.

EBY --- Jackson and Samuel EBY
....were born in Franklin Co., Penn.; the family emigrated to Ohio and settled two and one half miles north of Mansfield, in April, 1831; after two years they bought a part of the southwest quarter of Sec. 2, Perry Township. Father EBY was born Dec. 27, 1774; Samuel was born Aug. 19, 1801, and Jackson, March 15, 1815; the latter was married to Barbara SHULER, Aug. 30, 1822; they had three children. Jackson EBY'S wife died in 1868.

EDGINGTON --- Jesse EDGINGTON
Born in Virginia. Came to Richland County in 1818. He died 1821 "at an advanced age." Married Margaret PALMER.

EHRET --- Christian H. EHRET
....born in Germany May 4, 1798, where he resided until the age of 19 years, when he removed to the United States and located in Pennsylvania, where he resided a few years, when he removed to this State and located in this county and township (Blooming Grove). He married Miss Elizabeth PHIPER while in Pennsylvania, soon after he removed to this State, she died, and about the year 1836, he was again married to Miss Cathrine PIFER, who was born in Pennsylvania Sept. 19, 1813, she at the age of 14 years, removed with her parents to this county. They have raised a family of eight children. Mr. EHRET had by his first wife three children.

ELLIS --- Sidney ELLIS
....born in Onondaga Co., N.Y., Nov. 9, 1824, where he resided until the age of 25 years, when he removed to Huron Co., this State, where he remained eight years, then went back to New York; he stayed there four years, then went back to Huron Co. again, where he stayed eleven years; then he removed to this county. He was married, Aug. 22, 1846, to Miss Hannah BENEDICT, who was also born in Onondaga Co., N.Y.; they have had four children

ELLSWORTH --- E. A. ELLSWORTH
.... farmer and stock raiser, Tecumseh P. O. Mr. ELLSWORTH is a native New Englander, but was born in Fort George, Canada, his parents being there on a visit at the time of his birth. He was reared in Erie County, Penn. After following mercantile business in Knox County, Ill. from 1848 to 1866 he came to Nebraska and located here and has been actively identified with the agricultural and stock industry since. In January, 1846, he was married to Miss Jane KING, who was born and reared in Richland County, Ohio. They have a family of two sons, L. S. and D. C.

ENDLY --- (Hon.) Henry Reynolds ENDLY

One of the youngest members of the Ohio Senate, 84th General Assembly, and one of two Republicans chosen to represent the Twenty-seventh-Twenty-ninth District, which is comprised of Medina, Lorain, Ashland, and Richland Counties, is the subject of this sketch.
Hon. Henry Reynolds ENDLY was born at Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio, in May, 1893. His father, Edward R. ENDLY, also was born at Mansfield, Ohio. The son, Henry, attended the public schools and high school at Mansfield, and in addition he took a course in business college. At the age of sixteen, Mr. Endly went to California....In 1917, Mr. ENDLY returned to Mansfield , where he organized "The Great American Mutual Indemnity Co."....He owns and operates the Richland County Leader, a weekly newspaper, published at Bellville, Ohio.
In the year 1913, in California, Mr. ENDLY was united in marriage with Miss Lura MACY ENDLY. They have three children, Edna Macy ENDLY, Henry Reynolds ENDLY, Jr., and Margaret ENDLY.......
....in 1921, he introduced S.B. No.53, providing for the creation of a state bureau of criminal identification and investigation and defining its powers and duties, S.B. No. 84, to amend sections and to add supplemental sections of the General Code, relating to the construction and maintenance of a county memorial building to commemorate the services of the soldiers, sailors, marines and pioneers of the several counties of the state....and S.B. No. 241, to amend sections of the General Code, providing for mandatory fire drills in public and private schools and children's homes, and for the teaching of fire prevention to the youth of the state. All of these bills were enacted into law."

EROW --- Jacob EROW
....farmer was born in Greene Co., Ohio; he came with his parents to Perry Township in 1857. His father Joseph EROW, in died 1869 and his mother, whose maiden name was Elizabeth SWADENER, died in 1872. The subject of this sketch enlisted in the 178th O.V.I. Mr. EROW was born Nov. 29, 1839; Adaline CARY was born Oct. 4, 1840; they were married Nov. 7, 1858.

farmer, he was born in Richland Co. Jan. 15, 1828 and was married to Sarah A. KERR in 1850; his wife was born in Beaver Co., Penn., coming with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessa KERR to Richland County. Mr. and Mrs. EVANS are the parents of six children.
