FACKLER --- David Fackler
....he was born in 1845, in this township (Franklin). He was married, in 1869, to Elizabeth BAKER, who was born in Jackson Township, this county; they have three children. Joseph FACKLER, his father, was born May 3, 1820; he was married to Mary BEAR, who was born in Pennsylvania Dec. 15, 1816. Joseph FACKLER died in 1849, and Mrs. Mary FACKLER in 1877.

FACKLER --- Henry FACKLER
....he was born in Dauphin Co., Penn., July 8, 1805, and is a son
of Abram and Elizabeth FACKLER; he is the eighth of a family of
twelve children. In 1829 he came to Ohio and traveled back, by
the way of York State, to Dauphin Co., Penn.; in 1831, he came to
Richland Co., Ohio. In the fall of 1831, he married Catherine
CRALL, who was born in Dauphin Co., Penn., and moved, with her
parents, Mathias and Elizabeth CRALL, to Richland Co. in 1819.
Mr. and Mrs. FACKLER have ten children.

FACKLER --- Dr. J.M. FACKLER
....homoeopathic physician; was born in Weller Township, Richland
Co., Ohio, April 7, 1838; received his degree at the Pulte
Homoeopathic Medical College of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1877; he was
married to Miss Martha N. FANCHER in 1862; they had two children.

FENSLER
(FANSLER) Emanuel FENSLER (FANSLER)
Emanual and Catherine ( Staley) FENSLER (spelled FANSLER in the
1850 census) migrated to Blooming Grove Township, Richland
County, Ohio, circa 1832, where they remained before moving on to
Allen County, Ohio in 1852. They brought with them three
children, all of whom had been born in their home city of
Lebanon, PA--John Henry, b. 1826, Elizabeth, b. 1828, and Daniel,
b. 1830. While living in Richland County, Emanuel and Catherine
had six more children--Phillip, b. 1832, Catherine, b. 1834,
Amanda, b. 1836, Jabob (who used the FANSLER spelling of the name
upon reaching adulthood), b. 1839, David Staley, b. 1846, and
William Henry, b. 1850. We do not know Emanuel's occupation,
although farming would be a good guess. This biograpy was written
by Franklin Edward Ray FENSLER of Waterford, Michigan. I am the
great-grandson of William Henry FENSLER, great-great-grandson of
Emanuel and Catherine FENSLER.

FIDLER --- John Fidler
....he was born in Adams Co., Penn., in 1794. Married Elizabeth SHULL; they had ten children; after Mrs. E. FIDLER died, he married in 1855, Elizabeth SMALL, who was born in Franklin Township, Penn., in 1807. John STONER, grandson of John FIDLER, was raised by his grandparents.
FIGHTER --- Henry F. Fighter
....he was born in Lancaster Co., Penn., July 29, 1847. Married in to 1872, Mary C. SPADE, who was born in Cumberland Co., Penn., April 6, 1847; they have three children. Mr. FIGHTERS father, Frederick FIGHTER, was born in Germany, in November, 1804; married to Catherine HOFF, who was born in 1805, in Lancaster Co., Penn.; they had three children. Mr. & Mrs. FIGHTER reside with their son in Franklin Twp.
FINICLE --- George Finicle
....was born in Cumberland Co., Penna., Aug. 4, 1818. When about 16 years of age, his father, Solomon FINICLE, with his family of five children, came to Ohio, and settled in Sec. 24, northwest quarter where they lived for a number of years; he then moved to Shelby; then returned to Jackson Twp. after a few years. The subject of this notice left home about 1843, and moved to Crawford Co.,Ohio, where he remained about one year, and then returned and purchased a farm. He was married to Miss Rebecca MARKS March 10, 1842; they had eight children. Mrs. FINICLE died in July, 1856. He was again married, to Miss Minerva McINTIRE, Nov. 9, 1856; they had three children.

Born in Columbus, Ohio. Came to Richland County in 1836.

....born in Hopeful Township, Bedford Co., Penn., Oct. 20, 1815,
where he resided until the age of 18 years, when he came to this
county; he was married in December, 1835, to Melinda EDWARDS;

FORBES --- Libeus Forbes
....he was born in Springfield Township Aug. 20, 1825. Married Jan. 10, 1854, to Hannah MORTHLAND, who was born in Cumberland Co., Ohio, Jan. 13, 1834; they have five children. Mr. FORBES mother, Elizabeth HIGGINS, was born in Bedford Co., Penn. Aug. 12, 1790; in 1808, she married William STEVENS; they had three daughters; in 1814, they removed to Ohio, intending to settle in Licking Co.; when within one days travel of their destination, a terrific storm overtook them; a tree was blown across the wagon, killing the husband and father; the mother made her home with her father-in-law, who resided in Mount Vernon; here she remained until she was married to Mr. Libeus FORBES, with whom she removed to Springfield Township, where she lived until 1867; raising a family of one son and eight daughters.

FORBES --- Theodore FORBES
... farmer, P. O. Topeka, has eighty acres on Section 3, fifty
acres under cultivation, balance pasture and timber. House is
frame, 14x18, stone basement, three rooms. Stone stable, 24x40 -
will hold twenty horses. Crops were good in 1882. He came to
Kansas in the fall of 1880, from Richland County, Ohio, where he
was born November 14, 1854. Ran a saw-mill ten miles north of
Mansfield, Ohio, for six years. He was married in Richland
County, Ohio, to 1878, to Miss Mary A. BROOK, a native of that
county, and has two children - Cora A. and Verta E. He is a
member of the Baptist Church.

FORD --- E. C. FORD
Merchant... was born in Washington Township, June 8, 1856, where
he resided until his removal to Mansfield in the spring of 1872,
where he commenced the tinner's trade, which completing, he
entered into partnership with his father (the late John FORD) and
a brother, under the firm name of FORD & Sons... He was
married in Mansfield, June 19, 1878, to Miss Ella J. HERSHISER,
daughter of Cyrus HERSHISER, a well known contractor and builder
in this city.

FORD --- G. W. FORD
....he was born in Richland Co. Sept. 24, 1836, and is a son of
Joshua and Elizabeth FORD, who came to this county in the winter
of 1827 and settled in Butler Township, on the farm where the
subject of this sketch now lives. Joshua lived there until the
fall of 1865, when he moved to Ashland Co. The subject of this
sketch was married, in 1858, to Jennie GRIECE, of this county;
she died in 1873; after his marriage, he settled on a farm
adjoining the old homestead, where he lived about eight years,
then bought and moved on a farm at Shiloh; about eight years
after, he moved on the old homestead, where he still resides. He
has been married about three years to Sarah J. DEILH, of Blooming
Grove Township. Mr. and Mrs. FORD have five children.

FORD --- P. P. FORD
Merchant, was born in Mansfield, Nov. 20, 1846. His father was
the late Col. Thomas H. FORD. On Aug. 13, 1868, he married Miss
Mary C. STONE of Washington Township, by whom he has five
children. He fought in the Civil War and lived in Washington City
afterwards until coming back to Mansfield in 1869.

FORD --- S. N. FORD
Secretary of the Mansfield Building and Lumber Company, was born
in Washington Township, Richland County, Feb. 6, 1847. He was
married in Lexington, Dec. 28, 1868, to Miss Lizzie COOK, of that
place, with whom has raised two children.

FORD --- Thomas H. FORD
Ex-Governor, was born in Rockingham County, Virginia, Aug. 23,
1814. His parents soon after removed to Harrison County, Ohio,
where they lived a few years removing to Clear Creek Township,
Ashland County, then a part of this county (Richland). He married
first a Miss HALL. She died as did all their children. He married
2nd Mary Ann ANDREWS and not long afterward he moved to Mansfield
where he began to study law, entering the office of James PURDY,
Esq. His second wife died in 1851, leaving him three children.
Mr. FORD was married a third time to Harriet M. PANTLIND who
became the mother of one child. He entered politics in the
Republican Pary. Served as Lieutenant Governor and served in the
Mexican-American War. The unfortunate affair at Harper's Ferry
cost him hi dismissal though he and his personal friends always
insist he was made a 'scape goat' for a higher officer's
blunders. He moved to Washington City where he became a lawyer.
He also served as Superintendent of Public Printing. He died Feb.
29, 1868 in Washington. His remains were eventually moved to the
Mansfield Cemetery.

....(deceased) he was born in Beaver Co., Penn., June 27, 1800. He was married, Jan. 1, 1835, to Mary GRIMES, who was born in Alleghany Co., Penn., Dec. 5, 1813; they had six children. William FOULKS, died June 3, 1879. Mr. FOULKS after his marriage, located on a farm which he purchased in this township (Franklin), and remained there until his death.

FRANZ --- J. B. FRANZ
Proprietor of St. James Hotel, was born in Leesvilled, Crawford
County, Ohio, June 24, 1841. He was married in Delaware, Ohio,
June 3, 1874, to Miss Nellie SAMPSELL, daughter of one of the old
citizens of that place.

FRENCH --- Rev. D. H. FRENCH, D.D.
Pastor, U.P. Church, Dayton, Ohio. Dr. FRENCH, who for over
twelve years was Pastor of the United Presbyterian Church in this
city, is a son of Rev. David FRENCH, who was pastor forty-four
years on the Associate Congregation of North and South Buffalo,
in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Dr. FRENCH was born in that
county. He served in Mansfield for twelve and one half years
until late in 1879 when he received a call from the U.P. Church
in Dayton.

FULTON --- John FULTON
He was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, June 20, 1821. He
came to this county (Richland) in the spring of 1843. He was
married to Jane DUNCAN in 1851. She was born in this county. John
FULTON was married to his second wife, Rachael J. CAMPBELL, in
December, 1854. John FULTON's first wife died in November, 1853,
at the age of 20 years.

FUNK --- Jacob M. FUNK
....he was born in Franklin Co., Penn., Sept. 22, 1812, and is a
son of Tobias and Mary FUNK; he is the third of a family of
twelve children. He remained at home until 1833, when he was
married to Susan WHEELER; after his marriage, he went to a place
near Nashville, Tenn. At the commencement of the Mexican War, he
entered Gen. Taylor's army as scout; at the close of the war, he
moved to New Orleans; when the cholera broke out, he took [a]
boat for Pittsburgh, and his wife and two children dying on the
way, he remained at Pittsburgh, until 1854, when he married
Catherine E. CANLY, of Franklin Co., Penn., when he moved to
Ohio, and, at the beginning of the rebellion, entered as Provost
Marshal and scouting service, and served during the whole
conflict; he was wounded several times. He has lived in different
parts of the State since the close of the war, and has been
living on the present farm since the spring of 1878. Mr. and Mrs.
FUNK have three children.
