Birth & Death Certificates for Summit County from 20 Dec 1908 to present may be found at one of the three (3) following locations. Requests can be made in person or through the mail by providing name and date of event. (These records are not open for public search!)

For Births or Deaths occurring:

• within Akron city limits -
  John D Morley Health Center; 177 S Broadway; Akron OH

• The John D Morley Health Center, in Akron, has reduced the cost of
  uncertified birth and death records. They are now only 10 cents
  each - that's right - 10 cents each.
  Please limit your requests to five (5) copies and include a long,
  self addressed stamped envelope.

  Also: They do allow you to go in and make a free search of the 3x5
  card index of births and deaths. You MUST make an appointment, in
  advance, but you have one full hour to search for whatever you
  want. Appointments can be made over the phone or in person.
  As always, please remember this is a business office. The staff is
  very courteous but they do have 3 requirements:
  1 - Take the file drawer out of the revolving file and move to the
  side to make your search.
  2 - A clerk who needs that particular file drawer can interrupt
  your search.
  3 - You can not make your own copies. A clerk will do it for you.
