  • John R. BUCHTEL, founder of Buchtel College (now The University of Akron) was born in a log cabin in Green.
  • Home of Isaac MYERS, former county treasurer and Mayor of Akron. Was once a country school teacher.
  • Alexander JOHNSON, pioneer state representative, came from Green Township.
  • Griswold Corners: Named for Revolutionary War soldier Alexander GRISWOLD.
