Topic: Pioneer
Toys
This will be a presentation and demonstration of the toys
made and
played with by our pioneer ancestors.
There will be toys for hands-on enjoyment.

This
program is for the young and the young at heart. So
bring your children and
grandchildren. Kids, bring your parents,
grandparents and great-grandparents.

Mrs.
Frazier retired after thirty and a half years from the Columbus (OH)
Board of
Education where she worked as a Librarian and with Special Education. She resides in Columbus.
She
now spends much of her time traveling the state as a volunteer with the
Ohio
Historical Society presenting historical programs mostly for school
children.
Mrs.
Frazier has also presented historical programs with many local
historical
societies around the Central Ohio area, Columbus public schools and
libraries,
senior centers, nursing homes, and Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus. She has been a member of an Underground
Railroad Society for seven years and gives programs about the
Underground
Railroad. As a member of the George
Rogers Clark Heritage Association, Springfield, Ohio she presents
programs
(circa 18th century) for them.
One
of Mrs. Frazier’s leisure activities is making lace the way our
ancestors
did. It is called bobbin lace (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobbin_lace) and was one of the many crafts young girls
learned
as part of her preparation for her adult life as a wife, mother, and
homemaker.
